1. What is direct deposit and how do I sign up
for it?
Direct deposit is a safe, convenient fast way to receive payments. You
may sign up for direct deposit by filling out an EFT Authorization Form
with a voided check, deposit slip or other bank documentation attached.
Once completed, you can mail the EFT Authorization Form or deliver it to ,
one of our Customer Service Centers.
2. How can I get an EFT Authorization
Form?

3. What if my bank doesn’t provide deposit slips?
You can request your bank to write a letter verifying your name,
routing number and bank account number. Bank documentation or a voided check is
required for direct deposit.
4. How do I know if I am activated for direct
deposit?
A Notice of Automatic Deposit Commencement letter will be mailed to you. The
date of the letter is the activation date for direct deposit. This letter
confirms your bank, bank account number, social security number and member ID
number.
5. How long does it take for child support payments to
show up in my bank account?
Direct deposit always takes two (2) business days. This doesn’t include
weekends or holidays.
6. How do I know when a deposit is made?
Call our KIDS Line at (907) 269-6900 or log on to the
KIDS Online
section of our website at
www.childsupport.alaska.gov. If you are in Alaska, you can use
our toll free number 800-487-3300 You may also contact your bank and
check the status of a direct deposit. At this time, CSSD does not send
out direct deposit advice notifying you that a deposit was made.
7. Do I need to fill out an EFT Authorization Form
for each case I have?
No. If you have multiple cases, all payments paid to you must be received in
one designated bank account.
8. What if I want to change banks,
close my account or change bank account numbers or account types?
You must fill out a new EFT Authorization
Form, check the change box and attach a new voided check, deposit slip or
other bank documentation for account verification.
*** If you use this direct deposit service, it is important that you notify
CSSD immediately of any changes to your bank account. This will prevent a delay
in receiving your child support payment.
9. What if I want to cancel direct deposit?
You must submit a cancellation in writing.
